Nicotiana alata · smell + visual + hummingbird/hawkmoth (triple)

germinate 21–24 °C, requiredphotoperiod day-neutrallight 200–400 PPFDwater evenly moistaroma 1,8-cineole (dusk-gated) + benzyl acetate, linalool, benzyl benzoate

A triple on the sense-map: evening scent + white star flowers + hummingbird & hawkmoth. Surface-sow (needs light), 21–24 °C, up in ~2–3 weeks.

The beautiful part — the scent is clock-gated. A 1,8-cineole synthase switches on at dusk and off at dawn, releasing eucalyptus-cool monoterpenes plus benzyl acetate (jasmine), linalool (floral), and benzyl benzoate (balsamic) — a perfume evolved to match the flight window of the Manduca hawkmoth. A night-scented flower whose chemistry runs on the same photoperiod clock we're obsessed with. Document it at dusk.
