Shape & colour breeding, open-pollinated (true from seed). Purple Beauty — a purple bell ripening to red. Hungarian Hot Wax — a yellow → orange → red gradient on a single plant.

Germinate: bottom heat is everything — 21–29 °C; cover lightly; 1–3 weeks. A Feb–March indoor start to fruit in season ("bank for next season").

Levers: fruit shape (bell vs wax), the colour-ripening gradient (one plant showing the whole sweep is a gift for selection), and day-neutral flowering — though a long (~20 h) photoperiod speeds it, a real speed-breeding knob the pod's light can pull.
